  • SNL is so trash now. No one funny, all politics. I miss the Andy Samburg and Jay Pharoah days. After that group left, the show never recovered

  • This is a level of maturity I hadn’t seen from Sandler. I do t think much of his movies but I love how much he seems to admire Drew Barrymore. Are they really that good of friends in real life?

  • it's interesting. everyone is trashing howard here for what seems like muck raking but it's a super effective interview method. he's basically aligning himself with adam by projecting his feelings onto him in order to get him to be more forthcoming than he had planned to be. lots of agents hate their clients going on stern because he has a way of getting information out of you by being insistent upon some kind of answer. that's why you listen to him. to hear things asked of people you never expected to have answered. he's one of the few interviewers in the world that has the fame and power to meet stars on their level and cut out all the bullshit. it's masterful to watch him work and the world will be worse for him hanging up the mic when he decides.

  • SNL will never have the glory days of Sandler, Farley, Spade, Shannon, Farrell, O'Terri, or Ackroyd, Belushi, Curtain, Morris, Murray....that was lightning in a bottle and it is the corporate pontiffs that desire power more than comedy.

  • "I Was Fired" (feat. Pete Davidson & Chris Rock) [Adam Sandler:] I was fired I was fired I was so sad to tell Well, I never saw it coming I got fired from SNL Between seasons I heard a nasty rumor That I was getting the sack I tried to call Lorne Michaels But he never called me back I'm joking, I'm joking He called me, he called me I guess NBC had enough of crazy spoon head And the songs I sang on the news Maybe they were sick of Canteen Boy But I think they just hate the Jews I was fired Not rehired Well it made me sad and blue I told my boy Chris Farley I got fired and he said "SANDMAN, THEY FIRED MY ASS TOO!" Chris Rock is here... Chris Rock! Hey baby! I love ya! [Chris Rock:] Hey man, how's it going? [Adam Sandler:] We- we were on the show together right? [Chris Rock:] Yeah, yeah. Same time! We got hired the same day. [Adam Sandler:] That's right. That's right. Why did you ever leave the show? I don't understand that. [Chris Rock:] Why did I ever leave the show? Well, Adam... I got fired I was fired I was fired by NBC Then I went on in Living Color Three weeks later they took it off TV [Adam Sandler:] It's okay, okay. You hang in there. You keep going after your dream. Hey, man! What's up? [Pete Davidson:] How are you doing? [Adam Sandler:] How are you doing, pal? [Pete Davidson:] I was fired I was fire- [Adam Sandler:] Hey, hang on. No no. Pete, you weren't fired. [Pete Davidson:] I wasn't? How's that even possible? [Adam Sandler:] I don't know, but be patient because it's coming soon. Well it broke my heart to pieces Cause SNL was my home Where could I do my silly voices now? I never felt so alone Yeah, I was fired I was fired NBC said that I was done Then I made over 4 billion dollars at the box office So I guess you could say I won So I was fired But tonight I'm rehired And I'm the happiest man alive Cause it feels so good to be back with you where it all began for me Right here on Saturday Night Live

  • They don't 'fire' people from SNL. They either renew the contract or don't. You can't just stay as long as you want to!

    • They're not wrong, though. I was in my teens at the time. Worshiped that early 90s cast. They had some phenomenal bits! Some much talent. Farley, Hartman, Rock, Sandler, Spade, McDonald, etc... But, the critics use to shit all over SNL at the time. It wasn't as good as it was in the 80s, yada yada yada
